I’m delighted to announce that my 2026 release, Sir Hugo Seeks a Wife: Cinderellas of Mayfair Book 1, is a finalist in the historical romance category of the prestigious Romantic Book of the Year Award, the Ruby, run by Romance Writers of Australia.
This is terrifically exciting and I’m particularly pleased that it’s Hugo who’s getting the accolades because this is a book I loved writing.
Congratulations to my fellow historical romance finalists, Isabella Hargreaves, Ebony Oaten and Catherine Bilson. Congratulations also to all the brilliant finalists in the other categories of the Ruby award. It’s a parade of Aussie talent!
Winners will be announced at the Queens of the Desert Romance Writers of Australia Conference in Darwin on Saturday, 22nd August. Sadly I can’t be there this year but it’s always a corker of an evening!
If you’re in south-east Queensland in early September, why not come to the fabulous Eumundi Writers Festival which is taking place on the weekend of the 4th to the 6th September in the beautiful Sunshine Coast hinterland?
The theme is The Human Condition and I’m delighted that the very enlightened organizers have included love and romance as one of those human conditions!
